Sounds like your uncle has found his way in life. Berkeley is still full of those young leftist/idealists who never grew up, never moved on, and never changed their lifestyles. Everytime I go to a lecture, I have to put up with their silly remarks, so far away from realities of here and now. Sometimes I mourn my youth idealisms. Sometimes I celebrate having moved on and "having gotten a life!" Thanks for the thought-provoking post, as usual.
